General Information

Make sure you bring

Your own Bike - make sure its in excellent working condition. Its well worth checking your bike before its packed up and we would recommend a service before you depart. Ensure that your tyres are in good condition, your breaks are working! Check cables for damage and have gearing to suit your fitness level for a variety of terrain. - if in doubt give us a shout BEFORE leaving! Whilst we have excellent connections with local bike shops its not worth missing valuable trip time whilst you wait for a 29 tooth sprocket to arrive!

Helmet - We fully recommend a helmet is worn at all times, shades are optional but this is Italy.

Clothing - Don't take a chance, this is Italy after all, bring enough clothing for all weather conditions from summer sun to winter rain especially windproof / waterproof jacket, gloves and overshoes. We recommend spare clothing to change into if necessary. Remember extra clothing is always useful to pad out your bike bag and you can always put it in the support vehicle if its not required. Being an area of mountains and lakes you really can get four seasons in one day.

You need to know

YOUR FITNESS - You need to be in reasonably good shape. If you are comfortable with the daily mileage shown on the itinerary for your chosen trip you should be fine, if you are not used to riding long distances (approx. 3-5 hour rides) then let us know and we can adapt. We will endeavour to ride at a tempo that's right for everyone & select routes and terrain that will suit all participants abilities. We will provide as much information as possible pre-tour, however full responsibility will rest with you to select the right trip for your fitness level.

GROUP RIDING - You will be riding as part of a group on open roads. You must obey all the laws of the road. Our guides will explain the formation and specific riding order of your group before the first ride, including route navigation. Safety on all rides is the responsibility of the individual and Grupetto will have no legal obligations.

INSURANCE - You are responsible for your own insurance cover in the event of accident or loss.
We strongly recommend that you take out adequate travel insurance to cover you and your personal belongings including your bike and equipment. See the 'Acceptance of dangers, risks and individual liability' on the booking page. We also recommend you obtian a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
